Actor Will Smith has been banned from attending the Oscars for 10 years after slapping presenter Chris Rock on stage during the ceremony.
The move comes after a meeting of the academy’s Board of Governors to discuss a response to Smith’s actions.
“The 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration of the many individuals in our community who did incredible work this past year; however, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior we saw Mr. Smith exhibit on stage,” the academy said in a statement.

It’s being reported that Will Smith is no longer allowed into any of the events led by the Academy such as the Oscars. It’s also clear that the ban against him will affect the careers of his family, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Trey smith, Jaden Smith, and Willow Smith.
