The US talkshow host and actor Whoopi Goldberg has offered her “sincerest apologies” after saying the Holocaust “isn’t about race”.
Whoopi made the comments on the show during a discussion about a Tennessee school board’s decision to ban the Pulitzer prize-winning Holocaust graphic novel Maus.

Goldberg started her career on stage in 1983 with her one-woman show, Spook Show, which transferred to Broadway under the title Whoopi Goldberg, running from 1984 to 1985.
Goldberg garnered widespread criticism for her claim that the Holocaust not based on race in a January 2022 episode of the show. She later apologized for the “hurt that I have caused”.
